Building Connections

In the small business world, connections are vital – we learn from each other and support each other in ways that perhaps our friends, families and customers cannot.

After the whole fake account mess we went through, we connected with an owner of a small business. This owner happened to be a loyal customer of ours.

She first purchased Opals from us when she lived in Sydney, Australia. She even purchased a beautiful Opal necklace for her grandmother, who says that it is her number one favourite.

“I sent your opal necklace to my grandma in Japan and she says the jewellery is no.1 favourite” – M. Manada, the owner of The Humming Spoon

The world is a big place, but it’s also such a small world at the same time. It’s a big, small world. Who knew that we would connect with an old customer after all these years?

Hearing this perked us up in so many little ways. We were feeling a little blue with COVID and the fake account debacle. Our business was already struggling as it was, but realising that we could relate and connect with other small businesses truly made a difference in our perspectives.

She now has her very own Australian-inspired cafe called The Humming Spoon in Japan. From delicious coffees, desserts and meals, to ‘one-coin’ lunch packs, her cafe would be one that we would love to visit (once the borders open, because you know, COVID). Dine in and take away options are available so you can comfortably enjoy the food and drinks!

She even is now selling some of our products at her cafe. And perhaps you should visit too!

Here’s to connections, and to many more connections!
