About Us

Our Mission

Thank you for visiting the Opal Gallery website.
Opal Gallery (previously known as Bentine Gems, the world’s largest Opal trading company) has been operating in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia since 1985. In 1999, we became independent and became known as Opal Gallery in 2003. We have been an Opal specialist for over 35 years.
With the evolving world of online shopping and digital communication, we believe that it is important that we provide genuine and authentic products rather than enhanced or artificial Opals which are often mistakenly purchased. We are Opal professionals with an extensive knowledge on Opals which we hope to share with you.

We have provided Opals to many VIPs through exhibitions at Australia embassy in Tokyo and other Major Cities in Japan. Also awarded Akiko Wada, a famous singer in Japan, the title of ‘Opal Queen’ together with the Australian Government.

Due to COVID-19, we have started our new online store to enable customers to learn about Opals and purchase products from anywhere in the world. We hope to provide the same high quality customer service and experience as the millions of customers who have previously visited our store through the online platform.
Please immerse yourself in the magic of Opals and enjoy making Australia’s national gemstone as a special treasure, just for you.
