Here are some of our proudest achievements over the years!
Over the years, we got to experience many achievements.
We won the Australian Government’s Export Award three years in a row. This was a particularly proud moment for us because we knew there were many other candidates who could have won this award. And to this day, it is with incredible pride that I tell people that we won this award, not just once, but THREE times in a row!
We got to work with many film companies as well. This was very special and being able to work with celebrities has been (by far, in my opinion) the most exciting part of the years at Bentine Gems/Opal Gallery. One international TV show asked us to collaborate with Ken Done, a famous artist, to create the ‘Ken Done Jewellery’ collection.

We often donated some of our products to the TV shows that we got to be a part of. One time, we donated a beautiful jewellery piece to a Japanese celebrity who ran the Gold Coast Marathon as part of a show. Why you would ever run 42km for fun, I will never know… 4.2km already sounds like a pain!
Anyway, our store got to be a part of this. It most certainly isn’t everyday that we get to do something like this!
At the end of the 1990s, we worked with the Australian Government to award Akiko Wada, one of the most famous singers in Japan the title of the ‘Opal Queen’. if you go to Japan you can see her on many TV shows.
